Notes: An original life drawing by local artist Christina Casement, completed in 2015. This is a lovely example of silverpoint drawing on smooth paper and shows a close-up of a female model's face and upper-body. She is in an intriguing and pensive pose; her hair is loosely tied with whisps falling down around the contours of her neck and shoulders following the line of her dangling droplet earrings. She is wearily clutching and leaning into an implement; looking downwards to the ground. The delicate technique and medium of silverpoint seems to emphasize the softness and femininity of the subject. The artist has hand signed and dated the work in the lower left corner. This piece has been nicely mounted and could be complemented further by being framed for display.
