Notes: This is an original vintage print by British artist Cicely Mary Barker was born in 1895 in Croydon, Surrey. As a child she was educated at home due to ongoing ill health and suffering from epilepsy. She was to become a very famous children's artist, and recruited local village youngsters as her 'models'.
This charming historical print is part of her famous series "Flower Fairy Alphabet". It shows an ethereal sprite wearing a pair of butterfly-like wings and dressed in a costume appropriate to the flower they represent. Some of this series also feature pixies, elves and similar delightful fantasy characters that have delighted children and adults alike over the years.
This artwork has been mounted, framed and glazed; with hanging attachments on the back.
